Daniel Libeskind said: “This project is an example of how to design a highly-sustainable, dynamic building within tight programme requirements. Light and openness is at the core of the design; at every move in the design process we incorporated simple, yet robust materials and considered the users’ experience to create this important building for Durham University.” https://www.archdaily.com/867192/ogden-centre-studio-libeskind Theory: The core for architecture is the manipulation of light and openness.

THE TWO CONCEPTS & SUSTAINABILITY

Image
Oscar Niemeyer: eradication of the straight line Benedetta Tagliabue: dedicate special attention to context Sustainability Noticeable north-oriented PV panels generates energy for the power consumption of UNSW light rail station. The structure is lift up to allow a high level of air flow and support cooling down temperatures due to the Australian climate. The materials used to construct this building are thoughtfully chosen to minimize the building's embodied carbon, and even the chairs are made from recycled materials. Therefore, this building is beneficial to the environment.
